"The Clock Fixer"

I've been down the clock road a couple times but I've never seen this type of repair.   A long time ago a repairperson used a Rathbun bushing to repair the depthing of the pallet arbor on an escapement.  This is not a proper repair.  I've seen this type of repair for clock wheels but not to adjust the depthing on a clock escapement.  Every time I see this repair I remove the Rathbun bushing and make it right, not this time.   The customer just wanted the clock to run and did not want a permeant repair.  My only recourse was to make the adjustment and tighten the screw.  As with all Rathbun bushings, this is only a temporary fix and not industry standard.  I post this only to demonstrate a unique and interesting application.  I do not condone this type of repair.
