"The Clock Fixer"

The history of the Zaanse clocks lies in the heart of the Netherlands. These Dutch clocks were produced in the region of Zaandam with its famous windmills. Shortly after the introduction of the pendulum by Christiaan Huygens in 1656, a regional pendulum clock was introduced in the Zaan region. Most Zaandam clocks seen today are reproductions.   Which is more accurate, a quartz clock or a cell phone.        A smartphone is periodically updated from the service providers NNTP servers, while a stand- alone quartz movement has no means of resetting itself to correct time.  The cheapest movements may drift some number of seconds per day, while others may only be seconds per month.  They both keep the same accuracy but because the cell phone is capable of resetting itself to highly accurate time keepers, it provides the most accurate time.
